🧢
A quick introduction to our club

Our non-profit club has a decades-long history of providing casual and very friendly organised walking events every Tuesday for a 9:45 a.m. assembly. Walking commences at 10:30 a.m. (through to approximately 12:00 noon) during the months of March to November.

Each week we visit a unique location in the Perth metropolitan area. Members may choose their own frequency for attendance.

We cater for all levels of fitness, and we warmly invite you, your friends and your family to try out our companion-style walking. There is something to suit everyone – regardless of the pace at which you walk or move and the distance that you wish to cover.

All club members are issued with an official name-tag badge for easy identification.

Spectators are always welcome; walking and/or resting is uniquely suited to each individual’s capacity and comfort.

🦉
Age and ability

Age and ability is no barriers to joining our club.

We might be termed ‘over 55’; however, our club is open to the widest variety of ages, including those from 50+.

We do not collect your date of birth on our application form.

🆓
Why not give us a FREE go?

  • Your first walk is a freebie, so you’ve got nothing to lose.
  • Stop by at any one of our published walking events and ask to participate in a freeTry-out day‘.
  • We are more than happy to answer your question in person.
  • The annual membership fee (if joining) is a modest $20.00, which covers the whole calendar year.

    It’s as cheap as chips!

💆‍♀️
Gentle Participation

● Remember, rest if and whenever you need.
● Do not be afraid to sit out if you’re feeling unwell.
● Consult our First Aid Coordinator (mob 0426 889 845) when needed.
● Participation in the post-walk chat is independent of any decision to walk (or not walk) on the day.

If you decide to skip the walk, why not come for just the ‘bite to eat’ and/or friendly chat, if you’re able? 💗

Spectators are always welcome.

👋
‘Walk buddy’ allocation

Let us be your ‘walk buddy’ if you need one.

Joining with a friend is wonderful but not necessary.

You may come alone, with others, or you might like to try it on behalf of a loved one.

If you join us – with or without a friend – please let us know if you would like an introduction to a walk buddy for the day, or simply stroll amongst us.

You’ll find ‘your people’ after a couple of walks, so don’t be shy or apprehensive. 😀

When you arrive, just look around for someone wearing a yellow high-visibility vest. They will help and point you in the right direction to participate in a free ‘try-out’ walk session and/or direct you to our membership officer for assistance with enrolment.

If you’re paired up with a walk buddy, this can be a great introduction to the club, allow you to casually ask them questions as you stroll amongst the little walk groups.

Remember to bring a drink, food and chair for the get-together after the walk which is purely voluntary, of course. Many club members will wander between the smaller groups to catch up with others that they may not have been walking with.
Our post-walk chat is a perfect opportunity for new club members to ask more questions of other club members.

Membership registration is only $20.00 for the whole calendar year.

If you do choose to join our club – after you have completed the membership application form and paid any owing membership fee – you will receive a name badge and a handy membership card that lists the walk locations and dates. You can then ‘pick and choose’ the walks that you wish to attend, based on your interest for that walk, its distance from your home and your other appointments.

Click on the green ‘Join-up menu‘ button below for all the details.

Even if you come try us out and it is ‘not for you’ at this moment, you still get to enjoy the great outdoors in a friendly and (always) non-pressured atmosphere.

We hope to see you soon, friend, in the great outdoors.

Happy walking.
