Good Afternoon,
RE: West Australian Walk – Subiaco to New Norcia August 2026
The Camino Salvado pilgrimage is a supported hike from Subiaco to New Norcia following the steps of Bishop Salvado (1846), who founded the mission at New Norcia.
There are two scheduled 7-day pilgrimages every year. One in August and one in September. The September pilgrimage is fully booked this year with a reserve list; however, the August pilgrimage still has some vacancies. The dates are 23-30 August.
All the details are on the website: https://www.caminosalvado.com
The pilgrimage is day hiking only, averaging 20-24 kilometres per day. All meals and accommodation are provided as well as transport throughout each day of the hike. The cost is $1,500 per hiker. At the time of writing there are 8 vacancies.
This pilgrimage is a fantastic experience, travelling through the Walyunga National Park, lower Chittering Valley and the Julimar Forrest. Wildflowers should be spectacular this year.
(Day 8) The Sunday morning before returning back to Subiaco includes a New Norcia town tour.
I wonder if you could bring this to the attention of your members in case anyone is interested. This is a non-profit organisation and completely run by volunteers.
Kind Regards,
Kim La Spina
